It’s a horror comedy called MYSTERIOUS WAYS that’s basically Superbad meets The Exorcist, but set in the evangelical church world I grew up in.
We’re playing festivals now and so far have screened at the Phoenix Film Festival, A Night of Horror International Film Festival, Poppy Jasper International Film Festival, and Seattle Crypticon. Photos below!
Mysterious Ways
When two sibling youth pastors accidentally possess a member of their youth group during an anti-Halloween slumber party, they’ll have to stop her rampage on Halloween night before the church’s reputation is ruined and Satanic forces usher in the End of Days.
In October of 2022 we spent 11 wild days shooting my first feature film. As a former pastor’s kid who was obsessed with the Left Behind books, the Rapture, and demons hiding behind my shower curtain, it meant a lot to me to be able to take my childhood anxieties and turn them into a ridiculous comedy. Possession stories usually take place within the world of Catholicism, but the evangelical community is equally terrified of these things, lemme tell ya. There’s a growing community of ex-vangelicals who are speaking up more and more about the strange and fear-inducing beliefs we were taught as children and this movie is for them.

"Going Going Gone: The Tragic & Overwhelming Loss of Tyler Eaton's Hair"

"How To Make A Bad Short Film (in 5 easy steps)"
I made an awful, awful short film about a young man coming across an extraterrestrial in a field near his house. The experience was so excruciating that we never finished it. But I realized it would be selfish of me to not share what I learned with other filmmakers who are looking to make a terrible, unwatchable short film.
